The weather has been bad in Galicia. The pilgrims are in other parts of Spain (not many of them, but they do still exist!) The tourists do not come. In Summer large groups of mainly Asian pilgrim tourists are processed by large companies which invest millions of dollars in well-organised pilgrim tours.
The Asian tourist want to take pictures (mainly in Galicia) to show to family. Forget walking or religion! They receive wonderful dinners, lots of excellent Galician wine and beer and enormous breakfasts in good hotels.
Forget the lonely business man / woman who invests thousands of dollars (mainly losses). They do still exist and I respect them, but: the times they are changing!
